We recognize the crushing work load that physicians face today that only adds to an already challenging job. This membership benefit program was created to serve Idaho's physicians and other medically licensed professionals. Members of the following participating organizations may request appointments by clicking above.

Confidentiality

Our mental health providers (MHPs) are sensitive to keeping your personal and professional reputation intact. Your participation in this program is completely voluntary and confidential and may not be mandated as a condition of employment. The only person besides yourself who knows you utilized the program is the MHP (aside from their internal staff): no one from the medical society, employer, Board of Medicine/Nursing will be notified of your name if you choose to participate.
  • No medical diagnosis - only limited therapy notes are kept on paper.
  • No insurance billing - our billing process does not allow for participant names to be submitted.
  • Limited electronic records created (e.g. calendaring, consent to treat, telehealth software, all of which will be disclosed and explained by the therapist).
Participants must sign an understanding of the MHP's limits of confidentiality under certain legal statutes. Please review our consent to treat form prior to your first appointment, although you will go over this paperwork in your first appointment.
PVP CONSENT TO TREAT

Competent

Contracted mental health providers undergo screening for program compatibility by PVP Committee members including physicians, behavioral health professionals, and the PVP Director. While their licensure credentials are regularly verified, additional certifications such as EMDR are not. Members should exercise their own discretion when choosing a provider, as PVP cannot assure the suitability of providers for specific issues.

Convenient

Appointments are available via telehealth and in-person at a variety of times and locations. To make an appointment:
  • View the list of contract MHPs and make contact with one of them directly.
  • If you are having trouble getting an appointment, you may call or text (415) PVP-ACMS (787-2267) for assistance.
  • Your identity may be disclosed to the PVP Director (the ACMS Executive Director) if your Caller ID is displayed. However, your confidentiality is still assured.

Cost-Free Access

Eligible members may utilize up to five (5) sessions per twelve-month period (starting with the first appointment and renewing 12 months later.)
  • Ada County Medical Society (ACMS) eligible members include physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners; residents, active or retired.
  • Idaho Academy of Family Practitioners (IAFP) eligible members include active or retired physicians and medical residents.
  • Idaho Medical Association (IMA) - all licensed IMA members will be eligible for PVP services on October 15, 2023
Family members may attend counseling sessions with members, but the client of record is the member and must be present.
A portion of your association's membership dues help sustain this program. Your tax-deductible contributions to the ACMS Foundation help extend it.
